Listen, I have weak nails, but I love for them to look nice and although I'd love to have a manicure everyday of my life, that is just not going to happen.
So, I've discovered two lovely things, both by Sally Hansen.
First, The Advanced Hard as Nails with Nylon and Retinol. This stuff is awesome because it dries SO fast and it doesn't peel. I am a huge fan. I've used all sorts of hardeners in the past and this one is by far the best.
The second Sally Hansen item is an actual color, called Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear. I do like my nails with color, but when I paint them myself, it would be believable if I told people that I painted my finger nails with my toes or even my mouth...with my eyes closed, cause it ain't pretty. But this stuff, I don't know if it's the brush or the actual polish, but it does such a great job and with the clear polish I mentioned above, my nails last a long time looking pretty, without having to pay for a manicure! (P.S. I like the color Ice Coffee.)
Totally works for me! For more Works for Me Wednesdays, go here!
Thanks for the tip! I've been awful about my nails since becoming a mom, but if this stuff dries fast, I could do it in the car while I'm doing the school pick-up!
And thanks so much for your kind comment earlier this evening. I really appreciate it.

Awesome tip! My nails are usually my LAST priority these days, I sure do miss those days when I had pretty manicure, I always feel super feminine. I miss that! I am also a hideous nail painter, so this gives me hope that I might be able to do it on my own.

by the way...LOVE your blog title. I even called my hubby in to see it. (as a pile of laundry sits staring at me...mocking, even)

I've used the Hard As Nails for years, and now it's the only kind I buy. I'll have to try the Xtreme, though... great tip!

It doesn't peel? Seriously?? I'm gonna try it.

I'll have to try this. I have thin nails that break/peel easily. I used to use Sally, but haven't for a long time. Thanks!

When I was a kid I remember my Nana always using Hard as Nails and she had the strongest nails I've ever seen. Even at 91 - she has long, hard, indestructible nails.

I will also vouch for the Sally products. I have been using them for years. And will even take them to the salon for pedicures because I like them better than the salon stuff.

Thanks for the great tips. My nails need all the help they can get.

I love Sally Hansen products. After each PG, they saved my nails. Without them, my nails get brittle and chip easily.
I just tried a base coat from Orly that works better under my polish than my last professional manicure. It's Orly Bonder Base Coat and it dries quickly. I highly recommend it!

I just bought this polish and it is amazing. I am so glad you posted about it. This stuff stays on so good and I can tell a difference in the strength of my nails. Now Sally needs to be paying you!
