I have a secret, do you promise not to tell?
Girl Scout's honor?
I ate an entire sleeve of thin mints today.
Well, not an entire one, I gave two of the cookies to my children because they were all at my feet while my head was in my cabinet, while I was trying to SECRETLY shove the cookies into my mouth. I would nonchalantly return to the cabinet, oh, about every 2 minutes to shove yet another thin mint into my mouth. By about the fourth trip, the children caught on, or they could smell it on my breath and on my fingers and they began to ask me for a treat.
I gave in and gave them one.
I haven't eaten an entire sleeve of thin mints since I was 8 months pregnant with Ariel, and that particular sleeve I ate it in about 35 minutes, while sitting alone in my office at nine in the morning. It was divine. Until my boss walked in and asked me for a thin mint. I was like "what thin mints?" He replied "the sleeve I just saw you walk in with like ten minutes ago....wait a minute...did you eat them all?" It was a great moment for all pregnant woman across America.
Of course, then I was eight months pregnant Now? Not so much. In my defense, it did take me over eight hours to eat that sleeve today, but still. An entire sleeve???
But I promise, I'm going to curb my girl scout cookie eating starting tonight. No more girl scout cookies for me. I will resist the urge to have ANYMORE COOKIES. I am empowered.
Plus, they are all gone. Should be easy.
And the candy from Halloween? Gone, taken care of.
By yours truly.
It's been a busy week taking care of all that junk food.
Which leads me to my point. I gained a pound this week. Of course, that was before the Great Thin Mint Incident of 2007, so I'm not off to a great start for next week, but seeing has how the junk is all gone, I can now move on to bigger and better things.
Like nachos.
To see how others are doing, just go here.
Have you ever tried putting thin mints in the freezer??? Yum!!!

Yeah, clearance sale Halloween candy is sure to by my undoing this week, too!! Here's to practising some self-control this week! (hopefully the scale will notice!)

Oh, I have so been there! But now I enjoy the 100 calorie packs of the FudgeShoppe Grasshoppers. They taste almost exactly like the GS TM, but they don't have that thick, greasy texture. Here's to a better week next week! :-D

I just polished off the last fun sized bar in a bag of candy that I bought on FRIDAY. Not counting all the candy I've snuck out of my kids Halloween bags.
Its so nice to know you're not alone.

Back when GS cookies had those Trefoils (they used to make them with sugar on them back in the day!) I would eat an entire box in one sitting - not just one sleeve.

Have you tried storing things like that in the Veggie drawer in the fridge? The kids never look there- hehe.

Thank God...I am not the only one...I love thin mints..in fact, I truly wished I had some right now....

Is it bad that I think one sleeve in 8 hours time is not that big of a deal? In one sitting, yeah...but spread out throughout the day, doesn't count the same, right? :-) Thin mints sound so good to me right now. I can't remember the last time I had Girl Scout cookies. I agree that the 100-calorie Grasshopper packs are really good.

I was somehow able to avoid the girl scout cookies this year. I'm filling the void with Halloween candy, though, so it hasn't been that bad... : )

i seriously dont think anyone could blame you...thin mints are irresistible. i have to have mine frozen though. in fact...that makes me crave them right now!!!

See, I think the only bummer in this story is that your kids are old enough to notice you sneaking cookies and now they want in on the action! Smooch still doesn't really notice when we're getting into something delicious and not-for-toddlers. So if I go scarf a sleeve of Thin Mints, I still don't have to give ANY of them away. ;-)

woman, you are making me drool. Our girlscout time isn't until March. And oh honey... a sleeve of thin mints is nothing. Try an entire box in 6 hours. not pregnant.

Oh I have eaten so many sleeves of Thin Mints over the years...okay, truthfully, it probably happens every year!!! It's just weird that your cookies showed up at Halloween time--I always thought it was a winter/spring thing.

you get brownie (no hint intended) points for sharing one. now if you said you shared more than like 4 pieces then I would have to boot you out of the sneaking snacks club ;)
i loved this post!

Oh my gosh I totally hear you this week! My downfall was the fun size candies, but believe me if i had some girl scout friends I would be eating in the pantry with you. I wouldn't stop at one sleeve either. Those thin mints should be against the law!!

Um. Hullo. Thin Mints? It's Girl Scout Cookie season already??? HOW did I miss this? I love me some Thin Mints.

I LOVE thin mints! I hope no one hijacked my girl scout, because I haven't seen my cookies yet.

You are crazy! I've got my stash of 6 boxes of the peanut butter patties when I get my cookie attack, but I don't know if I would be as brave as you to admit to eating a whole sleeve. Brave and crazy - You are a wild one, but that's why I like you! ;-)

I finally got my girl scout cookies Saturday...I keep the thin mints in the freezer, which I have 2 at a time here and there....
