Besides the fact that everyone seems to be pregnant in the blogosphere, there are some other cool baby things going on, things that make my heart sing and you should read about them. First, there is Katie (the poetic genious) who just adopted baby Jacob in December, he's so cute and despite being a tired mommy to a newborn, she does a great job showing off how cute he is through pictures on her blog.
And then, there is Anna from Sincerely Anna. Oh my, is she going through something so huge and divine. Her soon to be adopted baby daughter is due to be born in February and although everything is going very smoothly, she could always use your prayers that things continue the way they are. So, go there and read about their heartwarming story and say a little prayer that that little baby girl will be safe and sound in her arms, just where she belongs.

I'm not talking about those cute little chocolate covered malted balls, I'm talking about the flame broiled sandwich, the big kahuna, "the original," you know the one. It's delicious.
But because it's something to the tune of over 1000 calories with a medium fry, I tend to steer clear of such a thing.
With my last pregnancy four years ago, I honestly did not care what I ate. Because I ate everything - Little Debbies? You bet. Tons of pizza? Sign me up. Pop tarts every morning? S'mores, please. Whoppers with onion rings? Bring it on. After that pregnancy I weighed in at 222 pounds and decided to attempt to lose the weight. After many attempts I successfully lost the weight and kept it off and I always felt great about it. I learned the right way to eat, I learned how not to stuff myself and most importantly, I never touched a whopper again.
Until.
Yesterday afternoon I had a strange sensation in my body. It tasted a little like a grilled burger with cheese, perhaps with mayo and ketchup and I realized something very important. I needed a Whopper. Now, I'm not one to have Brian jump into the car to feed my cravings, if I were, he would have been at Arby's the night before at approximately 11 p.m. But instead, I went to bed, starving and dreaming of roast beef and ketchup.
But this Whopper thing that was occurring was very strong, probably because it fell right before dinner time and it didn't help my cause that if I did partake in a little Whopper awesomeness it would mean not having to cook dinner OR clean it up.
I shared my Whopper thoughts with Brian and he, being the smart guy that he is, said he would go get a Whopper. (he knew they were on sale 2 for $3, he ain't no fool.) BUT, he wouldn't leave, he kept working on work and I had to eat because I was Starving with a capital S. So, I took it all as a sign from the health Gods that I should just make dinner. Yes, I would make spaghetti. I love spaghetti, it's delicious and a cup of spaghetti with sauce is approximately 300 calories. The water began to boil when Brian jumped up declaring that he was leaving for Burger King. I told him that I was going to make dinner. "see the water boiling? The sauce pan on the stove? I'm making dinner." To which he replied, "but I was going to get you a Whopper."
I argued back "BUT...okay."
and off he went.
and he came home and I believe I ate the sandwich in 14 seconds, but I don't really recall and I believe it was awesome, but it was such a blur. Throughout this pregnancy I have been avoiding onions (which I typically love) because they just leave a terrible taste in my mouth and they upset my stomach, but last night, I caved and ate the onions, too.
That was a whopper of a mistake. (oh, please, you knew it was coming)
What isn't a blur was thirty minutes after that when the Whopper hit my digestive tract with a giant thud and sat there. For literally hours, making me feel full and sick all night long. I cursed the Whopper and swore I would never have another for as long as I live.
This morning I do feel better, I still feel full from the flame broiled goodness. Maybe it was the flame broiled patty, or the mayonnaise or the onions, whatever it was, I will not be indulging in one of those for a very, very long time.
or at least for today.

Isn't she beautiful? Not just because of her glowing skin, amazing facial features and rock hard abs, but do you see that sponge? It's mine. And that shower? Is mine, too.
My dear, sweet, amazing friend is cleaning my house right now.
While I sit and tell you about it. "While I sit." which seems so wrong, but I promise I'm attempting to pay her back with wine and chocolate and maybe some smooches, if she'll allow it.
But until then, I'll sit.
while she cleans. (happily, I might add, which is so strange to me)
and while Ken lounges in the tub.
And yes, he is wearing a skirt.

Right now it's 44 degrees. For those of you lucky enough to be in the southern states, 44 degrees in January is considered balmy in these parts.
By this time tomorrow, it's going to be 2 degrees.
I hate winter.

So.
The big day is almost here. Our house goes on the market on Friday. And although we have been checking things off of our "to do" list for about 3 weeks now, we still have a few 22 things that need to get done. It's going to be a busy week.
And guess what? I actually have some energy today - at fifteen weeks of pregnancy, I FINALLY have some energy. Already today I have taken a child to school and done two loads of laundry, I haven't done this much work in such a short period of time in about twelve weeks.
It's sad, I know. But so very, very true.
This past weekend we celebrated Ariel and Racecar's birthdays with family from near and far and it was delightful! I'd love to share pictures with you, especially of the ones that showcase how GINORMOUS by belly is becoming - it's shocking, really. Maybe I'll share with you once this energy goes away.
You know, in like thirty minutes.
see you then.

Are you all the smartest people in the world?
When I asked you where I can get some free boxes, many of you replied with "FREECYCLE!"
So, I listened to you and joined Freecycle.
and now I have free boxes.
You are all so smart.
Now, I'm just hoping someone will be giving away free pizza soon. That would be awesome.

Five years ago today, Ariel was born.
Five years of laughter and love.
Five years of being in awe of this child we created.
Five years of sweetness and joy, creativity and humor.
I have bittersweet feelings about this birthday. On one hand, I'm sad at how quickly she's growing into a little girl. When I shop for her, it's no longer in the toddler department near the butterfly tops and floral cotton bottoms. Instead, I'm surrounded by glitter belts and bratz dolls and the realization that she really is a big girl with her own ideas and feelings of independence.
But on the other hand, how can I not feel full of love and excitement over her growth and maturity? I see her everyday and everyday she does something or says something that fills me with happiness and pride.
Thank you, Ariel, for being you. I wish you the happiest of birthdays ever today. I can't wait to celebrate you and the amazing girl that you are.
Don't miss the VERY important interview with our Birthday Girl below.
Tell me, Ariel, how hold are you going to be tomorrow? Five
Are you excited for your birthday? Yeah.
How excited? Really excited, so much excited. really really so much excited.
What are you going to do on your birthday? um, play games and pinatas outside.
What else are you going to do, for real? Open presents, blow out my candles and I would like to feel the little feet of the babies on your belly.
What are you going to do after school? I'm going to get my fingernails and toenails painted at the salon and then I'm going to lunch at Red Robin.
What are you going to eat at Red Robin? ummmmmm............cheeseburgers with french fries and nachos.
Last year, we went to get your ears pierced, but you changed your mind just as they were going to pierce your ears. Why did you change your mind? Because I was too young for that.
And now you are thinking about getting your ears pierced tomorrow, are you really wanting to get your ears pierced? Yes.
Why? So I can look extra pretty with my make-up on.
When are you allowed to wear make-up? Because I'm allowed to with Halloween costumes. When I go to school I'm going to wear my earrings.
So, tomorrow, when we get your ears pierced, you know it's going to hurt, right? For just a second. I'll say just say a couple of ouches.
I can't believe you are going to be five, sometimes I think you are still my little baby girl. Are you? No, I'm a big girl now. I'm not a baby.
Can I hold you like a baby? nooooooooo. it's disgusting.
Do you love your mommy? Really so much, mommy beth.
Well, I hope you have a very happy, happy happy fifth birthday. Thank you. I would love to kiss you on my birthday.
Mommy loves you. and I love you to go to bed with me when there is a thunderstorm.
Alrighty, then.

Last night my Mom's group met for our monthly gathering. I did not leave Lynette's house until after eleven. IN THE EVENING! It's been months! MONTHS! since I've stayed out that late. I'm typically in my pajamas by eight o' clock these days, Sad, but true. But we did have some fun, Lynette decided to hold a tacky sweater contest and y'all, there were some tacky sweaters. Check out the photographic evidence over at Lynette's blog.
